Qualifications & Approach

Background

During my time as a college professor, I taught at a variety of schools, including Penn State and University of Kansas. I am currently an online instructor for the On-Ramps Rhetoric Program at the University of Texas at Austin.

Approach

From my teaching experience, I learned that flexibility is essential when helping people to improve their writing. First, I listen to my clients’ needs, then I help them to create a work plan tailored to their strengths and goals. Together, we come up with a plan that will allow them to showcase their unique talents on their project.

Experience

I have more than 30 years of professional editing experience. Originally, I worked with scholars from many academic disciplines. Since that time, I have branched out to other projects, such as self-help books, website copy, mailing list posts, business correspondence, presentations, memorial projects, and even creative writing.

After his adventures traveling and living in East Asia, Austin recently returned to his first love: fiction writing! While completing his degree in literature, he studied fiction inside and out. He brings his knowledge of artistic techniques and thoughtful, constructive criticism to help our clients develop the artistry and reader engagement of their work.
